It's hard enough to get through a New Jersey workday, but doing it knowing a co-worker doesn't like you makes it even more difficult.

Some Dead Giveaways A Co-Worker Doesn't Like You

There are signs to look out for that could let you know if someone in your office isn't on Team You.

I have been observing people who don't get along for years, and I think I can let you in on some of the secrets I've learned about how someone acts when they don't like a co-worker.

These are the observations I have experienced with my own eyes, so this isn't expert advice or facts proven in a study, just tips I think work well.

Can You Tell If A Co-worker Doesn't Like You?

Here's a good one. Someone who doesn't like you will stop what they're talking about, give a quick smile, and then look away. If they liked you being in the room, they'd greet you and finish what they were saying to the other employee.

This is one a friend uses, and I think it's a simple way to know if a co-worker doesn't like you. Is every communication you have with this person work-related? If the answer is yes, they don't like you.

Lunch seems to be the most obvious tell-tale sign if a co-worker likes you. If they run the other way, when the clock strikes noon, you aren't office BFF's.

Signs That A Co-Worker Likes You

Not all co-workers dislike you, though, and I think it's easy to know when they like you. Aside from that gut feeling you get, there are other signs.

There are two ways I think you can very easily tell if you're liked. If the answer to these questions is yes, you have a budding work friendship.

Does the co-worker invite you to out-of-work social events?

Does the co-worker initiate conversations with you?

If you like the person, I hope the answer is yes to both questions. Life is hard enough without co-workers who don't like you.
