New injuries could decide outcome of Eagles vs Packers matchup
The Philadelphia Eagles come out of their Bye Week tied for the third-most wins in the National Football League (6), and they enter the second half of their season with the opportunity to not just win the NFC East for the second straight year, but position themselves to have homefield advantage in the postseason.
The Eagles were dealing with injuries to several starters before the Bye Week, a list that included Wide Receiver AJ Brown, along with Cornerbacks Adoree Jackson, and Jakorian Bennett.
But all three of those players were Full Participants at Eagles' practice this week along with the return of Edge Rusher Nolan Smith. The 24-year-old from the University of Georgia has been on the Injured Reserve, and has not played for Philadelphia's defense since September 21st.
When the Eagles travel to Green Bay for Monday Night Football, they will face a Packers team that is dealing with their own plethora of injured players. The offensive leader in Receiving Yards and Receiving Touchdowns, Tight End Tucker Kraft is out for the rest of the 2025 season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee.
Both Eagles and Packers without starters for Monday Night Football Matchup
The good news for Philadelphia is that both AJ Brown and Adoree Jackson have been cleared to play in NFL Week 10. Plus, Defensive Tackle Moro Ojomo has been cleared from NFL Concussion Protocol and will be available to play on Monday Night Football.
The bad news for the Eagles is that Center Cam Jurgens has been ruled out after he did not practice all week. Philadelphia's starting Center sustained a Knee Injury in the team's win over the Minnesota Vikings on October 19th. Without Jurgens, the Eagles are expected to start Brett Toth at Center for the second straight game.
All three Eagles players listed as Questionable for Monday Night Football are all coming off Injured Reserve:
*Cornerback Jakorian Bennett (Pectoral Injury)
*Center Willie Lampkin (Knee and Ankle Injuries)
*Nolan Smith (Triceps Issue)
Green Bay's Injury Report is more ominous than the Eagles ahead of the two team's third matchup in the last 15 months.
The Packers have ruled out Defensive Lineman Lukas Van Ness with a Foot Injury and Cornerback Nate Hobbs with a Knee Injury. Van Ness is tied for the third-most QB Hits (6) for Green Bay's defense, while Hobbs is one of only 10 Packers players to have played at least 290 Defensive Snaps this season.
An interesting side note for Eagles and Packers fans in South Jersey: Hobbs' injury could open the door for Cedar Creek High School (Egg Harbor City) Graduate Bo Melton to get the start at Cornerback for Green Bay on Monday Night Football.
Four Packers Players listed as Questionable for the game versus the Eagles:
*Right Tackle Zach Tom (Back Issue)
*Wide Receiver Matthew Golden (shoulder Injury)
*WR Savion Williams (Foot Injury)
*WR Dontayvion Wicks (Calf Issue)
